Beginning SQL Server 2011 Programming - Welcome!

SQL Server Denali CTP1 has been holding my attention for some time now as I study the new features and prepare to document them in a beginners' programming book -- hopefully without making you drop into a coma while attempting to forge your way through.  SQL, in general, has more personality than a lot of languages; the answer to virtually any question about how to accomplish anything is "it depends." Of course it can be either a lot of fun or an infuriating descent into fires and madness to determine on exactly what it depends.  As I explore Denali, I'll do my best to make that descent entertaining.

Today I'm simply getting this post created as a placeholder.  In the near future I'm going to start documenting some of what I'm finding, but in the medium term this will also become a source for some of the supplementary material you'll want in conjunction with my Beginning SQL Server 2011 Programming book.

Until then, I'd obviously be excited to hear that you've stumbled upon this placeholder page.  If you're looking into Denali yourself, or have questions about SQL Server in general, please feel free to get in touch!
